It was maybe before the days of the internet that I liked Polysics (seven years ago), I even used to run a fairly popular website called "PolysicsOrDie" when the internet eventually happened. I used to properly obsess over them, they were a band that were so fresh & exciting. The crazy guitars, bleepy synths and that over excited shouting! It was all so amazing for me. As time has gone on, they seem to have lost there way, their signature sound is starting to sound really forced, lifeless and by-the-numbers, but weirdly they seemed to have gained more fans lately. A new album is on the way and it will be the first new album that I will not buy. I really hope they there will be a time when I will buy a Polysics album again...
Anyway, I am not entirely sure what I am getting at with this post, but if you are a fan you should check out their earlier, superior stuff and if you have no idea who they are but like some of these posted tracks, a good place to start is their "Polysics Or Die" album, which is a compilation/greatest hits thing made for Western audiences and then work backwards through the discography. :-)
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm?
Fans of the Bag Raiders may appreciate this.
Toisu!
Sebastian自身何が言いたいのか分かってない様ですが(笑)、Polysicsを知らない方には特に"Polysics Or Die"をお勧めとの事。そして、もしかしたらBag Raidersの貴方にはピンと来るかも・・・
♫ Polysics - Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto
♫ Polysics - Code 4
Hiro of Polysics occasionally does remixes under the name "Poly-1" or "Polysics". These were both taken from samplers I got with a paper.
♫ Bloc Party - Luno (Polysics Harajuku Mix)
♫ Kaiser Chiefs - Na Na Na Na Naa (Polysics Remix)
Weirdly MSTRKRFT have remixed them... it's nothing too special though.
♫ Polysics - Ceolakanth Is Android (mstrkrft remix)
Geeky stuff...
♫ Aikawa Nanase - Yumemiru Shoujo Ja Irarenai (arranged by Polysics)
♫ Polysics - Jhout (Wire Remix by Colin Newman)

Agreed. Now is the Time was the last good one. Its debatable, but it definitely had it's high points.
I really like old Polysics, but I actually think Shout Aloud! and to a lesser extent the new Young! Oh Oh, are much more similar to their older style than say, We ate the machine or Karate House, my least favorite of their material.
I specifically like Shout Aloud and Beat Flash. Those songs kick ass.
I think every Polysics album has a handful of inspired tracks, and a lot of filler. The new album is no exception: Tracks like Shout Aloud, Young Oh Oh, Beat Flash, and Wasabi stand out, while others fall flat. What strikes me as odd is you chose Code 4 and Mr. Roboto as examples of their "good old stuff." I find these tracks pretty tame in the faces of Peach Pie On The Beach, Kaja Kaja Goo, Buggie Technical, etc.
