Well. We've been here a couple of times now haven't we? Zuperblaq* has been accused of stealing a sample again. The video above contains a clip of the Freeland track "Mancry" and then the Black Eyed Peas track "Party All The Time". Even the most hardened Black Eyed Peas fan would have to admit that it's just a little bit the same. This isn't the first time Zuperblaq has got in trouble for this kind of thing, not so long ago he pissed off Boys Noize when he used some beats without permission and a bit before that he didn't get permission for a sample of Daft Punk's around the world. Anyway, after a bit of waiting, Black Eyed Peas "people" released this statement about the situation with the Freeland track...
"It was a lack of finalising legalities before releasing the record, clearance was not done and that was what it was about." - ZuperBlaq's tired legal team.
Which is pretty much the same response the Zuperblaq lawyers gave with the Daft Punk sample..
Now, I'm pretty sure of this, but I could be wrong, but when you put out a record aren't you meant to clear the sample before release, not clear the sample after release? This is starting to smell like arrogance on his part, like these artists should be greatful for the exposure he's giving and that alone means he doesn't have to clear samples? It would be interesting to see what would happen if the shoe was on the other foot......
Zuperblaq*がまたまたサンプル絡みでトラブルに...上にあるビデオを見てみてください。始めに出てくるのがFreelandのトラック"Mancry"でその次がBlack Eyed Peasの"Party All The Time"です。
Anyway, Freeland's "Cope" is a good album. One of my favourite tracks is "Best Fish Tacos In Ensenda" which you can hear below and you can download a couple of Freeland tracks here.とりあえずFreelandの"Cope"は良いアルバムです。お気に入りのトラックは"Best Fish Tacos In Ensenda"というトラックで下のプレイヤーで聞けます。他にもここで何曲かダウンロードできます。
Have a good weekend peoples! ^_^
Some of this information in this post was gathered from here.
*Zuperblaq is what Will I Am is calling himself these days. So we shall call it him forever.

zuperblaq = FAIL
add dim mak = FAIL²
man, he does not give us a reason to like him...
btw: The Black Eyed Peas - Simple Little Melody is a beat from boysnoize too afaik, but this time without legal problems (blogable?maybe good?i dont know)
Zuperblaq failboat = awesome.
Zupercrap. BEP haven't been good since 2005.
I deeply wish that Zuperblaq would stay away from dance music. Why the fuck is he associated with Dim Mak?!! He's not a signed to them is he?
this blog is full of opinions that dont know about the music industry. Plenty of albums with samples are cleared afterwards especially with regard to hip hop ones where there are tons of samples. Many times the artists/record companies cant get in touch with the original sample's publisher in time for the release so they just release it and deal with it later.
btw, boys noize and will are friends you dumbfuck. DIM & Boys Noize co-produced the new zuperblahq record
The dude above is wrong.
1. "with regard to hip hop ones where there are tons of samples"
Yes and that is why you have this bitchfest in hip-hop land where everybody is suing everybody for sample theft....
2. "Many times the artists/record companies cant get in touch with the original sample's publisher in time for the release so they just release it and deal with it later."
Or it could look like you are trying not to pay for the sample and get away with it. If by some small chance you cannot contact the publisher (unlikely.. money is involved) you save the track for a later date. You are just opening yourself up for a lawsuit... work in the industry for ten years kid and prove me wrong.
3. "boys noize and will are friends you dumbfuck. DIM & Boys Noize co-produced the new zuperblahq record"
I do believe Boys Noize made his feelings clear on his Myspace blog not so long ago... he produced this track and the BEP before the falling out.
@Anonymous #3: afaik yes he is
@Anonymous #4: lol
@Nameless: word
