The artist formely known as CSK OK, Cassian is indeed ripping it up and now that one of his remixes is available for blogging action you can all hear for yourselves this truth. This remix of Miami Horror adds a funky disco vibe to the preceedings without messing around too much with original. Highly addictive listening.

Cassian will have an EP out on Bang Gang in September and from what we know, one track on it is pretty special. So keep your ears open!!

When we first heard Beni's "Maximus" on the Flight Facilties mixtape we were blown away and now after hearing it in it's entirety we can safely confirm it's awesomeness. A really funky and effortlessly cool track, the choice of Sam Sparro for the vocals is quite inspired. One of our favourite tracks of the year so far and it's out on the 20th on Kitsune, be sure to grab yourself a copy when it's out.

Beniの"Maximus"をFlight Facilties mixtapeの中ではじめて聞いた時からあっという間にこのトラックが大好きになって、今かなり自信を持ってお勧めできるトラックだと思います。ファンキーでただ文句無しに素敵でボーカルがSam Sparroってのも面白いです。今年のお気に入りトラックにランクイン間違い無しで20日にKitsuneから発売。絶対チェックしましょう！

This remix from DerDieDas of "My Love Sees You" is very underated in our opinion, perhaps because the Classixx remix has so much of the limelight. As much we think Classixx are great we have to say the DerDieDas remix is x10 better.

It's actually a bit unlistenable in places..

Well. We've been here a couple of times now haven't we? Zuperblaq* has been accused of stealing a sample again. The video above contains a clip of the Freeland track "Mancry" and then the Black Eyed Peas track "Party All The Time". Even the most hardened Black Eyed Peas fan would have to admit that it's just a little bit the same. This isn't the first time Zuperblaq has got in trouble for this kind of thing, not so long ago he pissed off Boys Noize when he used some beats without permission and a bit before that he didn't get permission for a sample of Daft Punk's around the world. Anyway, after a bit of waiting, Black Eyed Peas "people" released this statement about the situation with the Freeland track...

"It was a lack of finalising legalities before releasing the record, clearance was not done and that was what it was about." - ZuperBlaq's tired legal team.

Which is pretty much the same response the Zuperblaq lawyers gave with the Daft Punk sample..

Now, I'm pretty sure of this, but I could be wrong, but when you put out a record aren't you meant to clear the sample before release, not clear the sample after release? This is starting to smell like arrogance on his part, like these artists should be greatful for the exposure he's giving and that alone means he doesn't have to clear samples? It would be interesting to see what would happen if the shoe was on the other foot......

Zuperblaq*がまたまたサンプル絡みでトラブルに...上にあるビデオを見てみてください。始めに出てくるのがFreelandのトラック"Mancry"でその次がBlack Eyed Peasの"Party All The Time"です。たとえBlack Eyed Peasファンだとしてもこれはあまりにも似すぎだと思いません？！こういう事は初めてではなくて、ちょっと前にもBoys　Noizeのビートサンプルを許可なしに使ったり、更に過去にはDaft PunkのAround The Worldのサンプルをまたまた勝手に使ったり...その後Black Eyed Peas側がFreelandの件について出した声明が上↑にありますが、Daft Punkの時とほぼ内容は同じで、これから解決しますといった言い訳です。

普通はリリースする前にこういう問題は解決するべきだと思うんですけどね。使われた本人はたまたまそのトラックを聞いて「何だこれ？！」ってなっちゃうって話で。なんだか彼のイメージは悪くなる一方ですね。彼は使っている事自体がアーティストにとってありがたいと思ってるみたいですが、彼もアーティストに対して尊重心を見せないとね...

Anyway, Freeland's "Cope" is a good album. One of my favourite tracks is "Best Fish Tacos In Ensenda" which you can hear below and you can download a couple of Freeland tracks here.

Tiga's "Beep Beep Beep" is out on August 13th. It's probably the second most "Pop" track on his "Ciao!" album (the first being Shoes) in a sane world this track should be a Top 10 hit in the real-world charts (not internets ones), but it is not a sane world and it will do well to crack the Top 40, which is a shame because it's quite ok.

D.I.M & TAI - Lyposuct (Original Mix) [Mirror]

You know a band is quite good when you like the first 10 seconds of one of their tracks, this was the case with Gypsy And The Cat a duo from Melbourne, Amazingland (Australia). The track in question is Jona Vark, which if blogosphere is at all switched on will be doing the rounds on the internet for next couple of weeks. The track will be compared to Empire Of The Sun, which should help the hype of these guys (no bad thing) but I'm hearing a Fleetwood Mac influence in it more to be honest... well a dancier filtered-bass Fleetwood Mac. Anyway, the track is fucking sweet and hopefully you'll agree once you've given it a listen.

新しい音楽を聴いていて始めの10秒が気に入ったらかなりの確立でそのトラックが好きになる事があると思うんですけど、このオーストラリア、メルボルンのGypsy And The Catを聞いた時もそんな感じでした。そのトラックは"Jona Vark"というトラックでこれからブログでも沢山取り上げられると思います。Empire Of The Sunなんかと比べられたりするようですが、Fleetwood Macなんかの感じがすると思うのは私達だけでしょうか。もちろん少しダンシーですが。とてもお勧めのトラックなので聞いてみてください。

We once called Ted & Francis "Boring". Turns out Ted & Francis read the blog and noted it. They may of noted our slight change of opinion. We have now become fans due to their solid remix work and their delightfully chilled debut EP. Anyway, they sent us this remix which was apparently just lying around on their laptop and is an exclusive to us. Many thanks guys!

The remix was made after they had seen the German film 'Berlin Calling' they loved the film so much they decided to remix one of the tracks on the soundtrack. The remix is a bit similar to something like Zongamin but features the nice piano sounds & soft vocals you'd expect from Ted & Francis. It makes for a great combination.

前にブログにてTed & Francisがイマイチと評価しましたが、どうやら彼らはそのポストを読んでくれてたようです。所が彼らのすばらしいリミックスや素敵なデビューEPにより私達はいつの間にか結構好きになってしまいました。そして今回彼らのラップトップの何処かにあったリミックスを特別にTMSにと頂きました！ありがとう！

このリミックスは彼らが"Berlin Calling"という映画を見て、とても気に入ってサントラの中からトラック1つをリミックスした、という事だったらしいです。何処となくZongaminな感じもありつつピアノとソフトなボーカルがナイスな出来でTed & Francisっぽい！てな感じです。

Terry Poison is an israeli electro-pop band formed by Petite Meller, Louise Kahn, Gili Saar and Anna Landesman. They have an album called "Terry Poison" and on this album they have a track called "Comme Ci Comme Ca" it's very much like something Yelle would make, electropop with cute French language vocals. It's a very good track and is insanely catchy.

Terry PoisonはイスラエルのエレクトロポップバンドでメンバーはPetite Meller, Louise Kahn, Gili Saar, Anna Landesmanの4人です。アルバム"Terry Poison"に収録されている"Comme Ci Comme Ca"はYelleの感じにとても似ていてエレクトロポップと可愛いフランス語のボーカルがとてもマッチしています。とってもキャッチーなトラックなので聞いてみてください。今年は彼女達から沢山音楽が聞けると思います。

We've known about the Shinichi Osawa remix of Lost Valentinos "Thief" for sometime, our excitement was quite high when we heard the teaser over at Shinichi's myspace a few months back. But since this, he did that fairly "meh" remix of Bag Raiders "Turbo Love" so we were a little unsure how it would turn out.

We should have never been worried, this is classic Shinichi Osawa remix action which is up there with his best remix work. It never goes fully glitchy-crazy-electro-BANG but the drum-beat... it's all about that drum-beat... awesome.

Lost Valentino's "Thief" comes backed with other remixes from; Nile Delta, The Aspirins For My Children and The Death Set. They have an album out in September, it was produced by Ewan "OMG" Pearson.

大沢　伸一がLost Valentinos の"Thief"のリミックスの事はちょっと前から知っていたのですが、彼のマイスペースにてteaserを聞いてから期待がかなり上がってたのですが、そのあとBag Raidersの"Turbo Love"のリミックスが私達的にはシックリこなくて少し期待度も落ち気味になりつつありました。

が、そんな心配は必要なかったみたいです。これは彼らしい素敵なリミックスで彼のリミックスの中でもかなり上位に食い込む出来です。超エレクトロパワー全開！とまでは行かないものの、ドラムのビートが命な出来となっています。

Lost Valentinosの"Thief"はNile Delta, The Aspirins For My Children,The Death Setのリミックスも収録。９月にはアルバム発売予定でプロデューサーはEwan "OMG" Pearsonです。

The second compilation of Kidz Records is now out in Japan. For those who aren't aware of Kidz Rec and it's compilations, Kidz Rec is the record the label of 80Kidz and the Kidz Rec compilations are a showcase of the Kidz Rec artists and Kidz Rec friends.

Just like the first Kidz Rec compilation, this is quite a mixed a compilation in terms of sound and quality of artist. The tracks from Baroque, Scottish Fold and Dominika are an indication of the talent Kidz Rec have at their disposal and are all artists that will be better known in the future. The tracks from Inner Crack, NGTK. & Small City sound very much like demos and need a bit more work put into them. The same can be said of 80Kidz own contribution to the compilation which sounds unfinished and is far from their best work.

The standout artist on the album is Mexican artist Bufi, his track "Homeless Hero" is quite superb, a funky chilled electro track with floaty vocals. This compilation really brought him to our attention and we quickly discovered that he has a free ep for download. Go check that.

Overall this is a fairly descent compilation, a curiosty filled with a few surprises, some good and some bad. We are more than aware that the Kidz Rec compilations are quite hard to get for those of you outside of Japan. But you can import from this site. If you want to check out something a little bit different, a different scene/side to electro music then you should give it a look.

ただいま日本ではKidz Recordsのコンピ２弾が発売中。念のためですが、Kids Recとは80Kidzのレコードレーベルで、Kidz Rec compilationsは彼らの友達や所属アーティストによるコンピです。

前回同様アーティストの色や質の差など色々混ざっている今作ですがBaroque, Scottish FoldそしてDominikaはKids Recのアーティストの中でもかなり力の入っている感じで将来的に有名になる可能性がある3組だと思います。その一方Inner Crack,NGTK,Small Cityなんかはデモを聞いてるような感じでもう少し良くなったのじゃないかな、なんて思ったり。これは実際80Kidzのトラックにも言えると思います。近作に入ってる彼らのトラックはなんだか仕上がり以前のような感じで彼らの実力が出きってない感があると思うんですが…

このアルバムの中で特に光ってるのはメキシコのBufiで、彼のトラック"Homeless Hero"は中々のお勧めです。ファンキーなのにまったりとしたエレクトロでボーカルもあっています。これを機に彼をチェックし始めたんですが、ここでEPがただでダウンロードできます。チェックしてみましょう。

なんだかんだで中々素敵なコンピだと思うんですが、良い、悪いサプライズがあって興味深いです。日本以外に住んでる人には結構入手が難しいですが、ここから入手できます。是非ともチェックしてみてください。

Queens of "brain-damage-pop", Trippple Nippples are back! They recently contributed a track to the YATT's 123 Mix CD. The track, "Yoho" is an outtake from the album they are working on. It is quite different from their usual style and the cutesy keyboards which were present in earlier work are nowhere to be heard in this track. It's more straight-up pop if anything. They have plans to release an EP later this year, so expect to hear the news here when it happens!
