OK. I've seen this Wolf Gang chap floating around the blogs for a couple of months now, pictures of him molesting cats (above) and looking a bit artsy meant I've avoided him, I also read a press release which was well wanky. It contained the following highlight:

It turns out he makes properly good Pop music. Really good stuff, you can say it sounds like "MGMT fronted by Bryan Ferry, or a 21st Century ABC" and that's all well and good. But it's just smart, sophisticated Pop music which is very well produced.

所が！なかなか素敵なポップミュージックを作ってるじゃない、と言うことが発覚。MGMTとBrya Ferryの対決若しくは21世紀のABCみたいな。なんとも洗練されていてプロダクションもレベルが高いです。

Lightspeed Recordings dropped us this sweet Dj Agent 86 remix of Bodie Lee's 'Monaco'. It's taken from his EP 'Go Chic Lightening', they also sent us the guidotastic artwork that we would always post! It's a great little EP, made up of some fine space disco house tunage and remixes from Faze Action, Rudy’s Midnight Machine & Ajello make it quite the nice package.

I've pratically run out of superlatives for this guy, this is one of the best tracks he's done too, so all I can say is download, support and hope that somebody, somewhere, gives this guy the money to go out and make an album now, because it needs to happen.

'A Funny Thing' is a genuinely brilliant track from Pengiun Prison. It's got that whole 'he's from NYC cool vibe' thing going on, but at it's heart is a song that is pure catchy pop that simply makes you feel quite good.

Pengiun Prisonによる純粋に素敵なトラック'A Funny Thing'。いかにも「俺はNY出身でイケてる」みあいな雰囲気も満開ですがトラックはとてもキャッチーでポップでとってもお勧めです。

This year has been the year of Fred Falke doing too many remixes, I can't help but wonder if Fred has a huge tax bill to pay off or his addiction to trainers has really gone extreme. Surprisingly, I find myself really liking his remix of Music Go Music. He takes the cute 8-bit route for this remix and it really pays off. It's not going to win any awards but it makes for a very pleasent listen.

今年はFred Falkeのリミックスがありすぎます。余計なお世話だけど払えない請求が貯まってるのか、もしくはスニーカー熱がバカみたいに上がっているのかとか考えてしまいます。このMusic Go Musicのリミックスは結構お気に入りです。可愛い8ビットが良い感じに効いてるお勧めトラックです。

Love On Laserdisc is the catchy new alter-ego that Kris Menace is producing under. On the basis of 'MainFrame', it's not really that different from his production under the name Kris Menace but that is not a bad thing. The debut EP is out soon with a b-side called 'Night Of The Worm'.

Another track that made the October chart that is now ok to post to the masses. 80Kidz have had a very busy year, an album and a never ending remix schedule has meant that some of their mixes have fallen short from their usual quality.

10月のチャートの中から更に投稿OKなトラックを今日もご紹介。今年はとっても大忙しな80Kidzはアルバムだけでなくリミックスにもかなり追われていたようで中にはいつもよりちょっと弱いものもあったりしました。

This remix of Metric is a real return to form and is almost as good as their remix of The Penelopes which they kicked their year off with. It's smart remix, it's builds really well and is quite melancholic sounding. It probablly won't set any dancefloors on fire but is very pleasent listening for the electroheads feeling the colder weather.

で、こちらのリミックスですが上に書いたようなものとは違って素敵なお勧めリミックスです。今年の初めにあったPenelopesのリミックスと同じくらいの出来です。メランコリックで盛り上がり方もナイスです。ダンスフロアーでってよりはちょっと寒い季節にぴったりなリミックスだと思います。

But he's just released a new EP and remixed Proxy's latest so it's the perfect opportunity to introduce him on the blog.

His latest, 'Rock On' is basically what we just described him as. It's evil, loud electro very much of the same style of his fellow Russian bro Proxy. It's on beatport now if you want the high quality version and at £1.70 it may seem slightly pricey but it's more than worth the cash. But hey, listen to it and then decide.

Some late night forum stumbling lead me to this one, perhaps one of the most satisfying purchases I have made on the strength of one track that was streaming on the artists myspace.

Allegedly, VHS Head hails from Blackpool, his debut EP Video Club just dropped on the Manchester-based electronic label Skam and there is some buzz over the indentity of who exactly he is. Notice that I am assuming it's a he, it could easily be a female too, it would be brilliant if it that was the case but it seems unlikely..

VHS Headはブラックプール出身で彼のデビューEPVideo ClubはマンチェスターをベースとしたエレクトロレーベルSkamから最近リリースされました。一体彼が誰なのかという話題も結構出ているようですが彼かもしれないし彼女かもしれないと思ったり。そうだったら面白いけど・・・

Anyway, Vhs Head sounds a hell of alot like Jackson & His Computer Band. It doesn't seem too probable that it is actually him because Jackson took eight years to make his debut album. To be honest I don't care who Vhs Head is... his debut EP 'Video Club' has just left me with a thirst for more. Check out the two examples of brilliance below and then head over here to buy a copy of his the EP in either physical or digital format. It'll probably go a long way in convincing him to make more. :-)

Technically, it's the second mix that Noob did for them because there was some drama over the first one, naughty Noob! It took what seemed to be a lifetime for Van She to finish their debut full-length, a year since the release of 'V' they've released the lacklustre 'Ze Vemixes' but they are back with a new track, I didn't expect this at all.

かなりながーい時間がかかったVan Sheのデビューアルバムから1年後にリリースされたのが'Ze Vemixes'ですが、そんな彼らが新しいトラックと共にカムバック。予想してなかったのでビックリです。

'(Don't Fear) The Reaper' is it's name and it was premiered on JJJ. After only a few listens it's obvious it's a 'grower'. It sounds like it's been produced by Shinichi Osawa too or at least borrowed elements from his remix of 'Kelly'. Which is no bad thing.

'(Don't Fear) The Reaper'という名のトラックはJJJにてプレミアプレイされたようです。こちら大沢伸一が作ったのか？！と思うようなトラックで、少なくても彼の'Kelly'リミックスの影響があるように思えます。別に悪いことでは決してないですけど。

This remix of Fever Ray originally appeared on The Twelves 'Twelfth Hour' mixtape, why it wasn't deemed fit to be included on the release package is beyond me. Why commission something so utterly fantastic and then not release it? The way people in the record industry act sometimes seems crazy-dumb to me. Anyway, it's escaped, so enjoy the pure magnificence of it.

The Twelvesの'Twelfth Hour'にも登場していたFever Rayのリミックス。純粋にこれがなんでオフィシャルリリースにならなかったのかが解らないんですけど音楽業界の人はこれを見逃しちゃって損だと思います。とてもお勧めです。

There is also some good news for UK fans of Brazillian duo, they are coming the UK on Dec 11th to play Laser Club @ The Legion in London. It's like £4 to get in. Make sure you set aside that date because as bargains go, that is a bargain.

I don't know who decided it, but a medal goes to the person who thought Proxy remixing Peaches was a good idea. This is such a different style to what I expected, Proxy expertly handles the vocals on this track whilst delicately building the track as it goes as long.

誰が思いついたのかが謎ですがかなり素晴らしいProxyによるPeachesのリミックス。いつものProxyとは違った今回のリミックスはトラックが盛り上がっていく中でボーカルを上手く使ったかなりお勧めトラックです。

Super Mal were kind enough to drop their latest production to us, 'Music Sounds Booty' is a funky re-working of the legendary Stardust track 'Music Sounds Better'. Is it wise to make your own version of track which is held so dearly to many? You make your own decision, it certainly beats many of the other attempts people have had at the track.

Cornelius is the project of Keigo Oyamada, you may of noticed that I've posted a few tracks by him in the past and I am a bit of a fan. He's described by many as being an 'acquired taste' which is a nice way of saying that is music can be very weird at times, at other times he makes some of the beautiful music you'll ever hear and this is why I like him so much (although I quite like the weirdo stuff).

前にも何度かCorneliusこと小山田圭吾のトラックはポストしましたが、想像できる通り個人的にけっこうファンです。彼の音楽は好き嫌いに分かれると言われますが、という事は特定の人にとっては不思議で理解しにくい音楽だと思います。その逆にツボにハマれば抜けられなくなる可能性がかなり大です。

'CM3' is the latest remix album from Cornelius, it's a collection of his latest remix work, it came out a bit ago and heaven knows if it will recieve a release outside of Japan, but the last two did. So here's hoping.

'CM3'は彼の最新リミックスアルバムで彼の最新のリミックスが収録されています。発売はちょっと前になりますが日本以外で発売になるのか謎です。ただその前の2枚は海外でも発売されたので期待してもいいかもしれないですね。

'CM3' features of a varied selection of artists, with his remixes of the likes of Sting, Kings Of Convenience, The Go! Team & Bloc Party suggesting he's an artist who likes a challenge. His style doesn't always work with everything but when it does, it most surely does.

'CM3'はバラエティに富んだアーティストがフューチャーされていて、例えばSting、Kings Of Convenience、The Go! TeamそしてBloc Party等・・彼のチャレンジ精神が感じられます。彼のスタイルが全てのジャンルに通じるという訳ではないですがハマった時はかなり素敵なリミックスが出来ちゃいます。
